Tonight we had our Giant Haystack. Hyvee http://www.hyvee.com let us use the field in front of their store. We hid numbered balls in the haystack and whatever number the kids got they brought to a table and were given a prize. It was very cold and prayed for the rain to go away, which it did. I'm not sure of the count on the kids but I think we had a good turn out despite the cold weather. There was so many people involved in putting the haystack together that we couldn't have done it without them. Next year Kev says it's going to be bigger and better!!

FPNO & A Birthday
Today was my good friend Angela's birthday. It was also Dropz of Hope's www.dropzofhope.blogspot.com FPNO or Foster Parent's Night Out. It's once a month on a night where foster families can come and drop their kids off for a couple hours and go out for the evening. Angela puts on this great program with food, games, crafts and videos. She really has a heart for these kids and these families so it's great to see new families come each month. Since Angela's birthday was on this night I decided to get a cake and surprise her with it and have the kids sing to her. She was so surprised and I was thrilled we pulled it off. Happy Birthday Angela!! Your doing a great job and I'm proud of you. Love you!!

This is what I looked like on Space Mtn and California Screamer
We arrived home early evening after having a two hour delay in Dallas. We had such a great experience and learned so much at the conference in CA. Kev and I are excited to implement some ideas we learned at Saddleback at Berean. All Stars, Saddleback's children's ministry, were absolutely wonderful and hosted an incredible event. We were so blessed to be there. The picture of Kev and I with Rick Warren is actually a cardboard cutout. The staff were putting him in different locations so Friday morning Kev and I decided to have our picture taken with it. Seems real huh? I took a ton of pics and they can be found on my Facebook page. Even more blessed to be able to spend some time with Kev's brother and sister in law, Dave and Julie. After the conference we took a few days to have a mini vacation and went to Disneyland. We met up with our friends Scott and Barb from Oregon where we had a blast. Well, other than riding on Space Mtn and CA Screamer, it was a blast. I will never, ever, ever, go on them again. You can see from the picture it wasn't fun for me. Anyway, God was so great to line up our conference with being able to meet up with family and friends. Our boys did great two and for that we are grateful.

Conference
Kev and I are leaving tomorrow for California. Pastor Paul asked if we would like to go to the Purpose Driven Children's Ministry Conference in Lake Forest, CA http://www.pdcm2009.com/. We are very blessed and excited to go. While we are there we will have the opportunity to have dinner one night with Kev's brother and sister in law, Dave and Julie, who will be in Anaheim for a few days. After the conference we will take a couple extra days to visit Disneyland. Our friends from Salem, Scott and Barb, will fly in on Thursday and we will meet up with them Friday after the conference to spend a few days together. We are pretty excited about the whole trip. Thanks go out to Brenda & Steve, Angela & Scott and Bob & Dee who will be taking our kids while we are gone. Knowing they are in good hands makes it easier for us to leave. Also, one of our children's leaders, Jeremiah, will be staying at our house to take care of the house and Oscar. I'm bringing the camera and plug in so hopefully I can post pictures throughout the week.
